& your soul is all i ever wanted

Okay here goes my USA updates....

This is gonna be one super long post. er please check my sister's blog for more details. NanaBanana link.

Okay so we left on Friday morning...Thursday was a great day, met family, hung out till wee hours of the morning and omg still packing!!!! argh. yeah. in the end i can't find some of my stuff cause I fell asleep in the midst of packing.

Friday!! I was so teary eyed at leaving home, can you imagine? Homesick BEFORE I leave home. Okay I am a tad homesick now but that's not too often luckily. In Singapore met up with Xin Hua and 14o5 People!!!! THANK YOU for coming to the airport it was SO good to see all of you! and Arti thanks so much for the henna! I saw some in California and I bet its freaking expensive!!!!!

When we left Singapore it hit me that THIS IS IT. I AM LEAVING ASIA. SHOOT.

Hong Kong airport was 4 hours away and we just ate in the plane and watched movies. Then transfer to another flight, 14 hours this time, all the way to San Fran! OMG. super long, and I slept only a BIT.

Reach San Fran, grab SUPER HEAVY LUGGAGE and meet Pete! He and Aunty Jessica hosted us for 4 days. First impression when we stepped into the garage? (it's called garage here, not car park) OMG COLD. COLD!!!!!!!!!! Wind just BLEW THROUGH ME!! Then we somehow got all the bags in and Pete took us for supper. Vietnamese food!! GOSH THE PORTIONS HERE ARE SO BIG. but it was pretty authentic, pretty good.

then we went back and hit the sack! Got up the next day at *gape* 3 PM. JET LAGGED LIKE CRAZY. we played and got introduced to the kids, Joseph and Julia. Then we went for dinner... PIZZA. IT WAS GOOD!!! Came back and tried to sleep again.

WOn Saturday we woke up at...1PM. JET LAG SUCKS. I don't remember what we did.

Sunday we went to SAN FRANCISCO. PIER 39 IS BRILLIANT. When we first walked up there were some people doing a *gasp* FREE STREET SHOW OF BREAK DANCING!! and they were pretty god. There was this asian guy amongst them and I was feeling : Yea Chinese!! Lots of Asians in California actually. Then we walked on, saw sea lions, another hillarious street show, saw some sights and ate ice cream!! Oh and we had italian food for lunch. IT WAS SUPERBLY SUPERBLY GOOD. For dinner we ate MALAYSIAN FOOD!!! That was after walking through Chinatown, which is really like Petaling street minus the pirated stuff, stores in the middle of the road and cover. Malaysia food here is expensive and rather okay but i am SO NOT PAYING 3 DOLLARS FOR ROTI CANAI.

Then on Monday we did a bit of shopping (Levis for 20 dollars!!!!) ate american chinese at this place called Crazy Buffet and then had some time in a HUGE bookstore (i Loved it!!! manga available and GREAT BIG SQUISHY SOFAS TO LOUNGE ON) and had mexican food for dinner!! MEXICAN FOOD WAS GOOD!!!! hahaha almost everything was so good man.

On Tuesday we did out packing, ate lunch in Aunty Jessica's house and helped Joesph and Julia pitch their tent. Both of them are super cute and ADORE my sister. hahahaha. We left for the airport at about 8.

The thing is over here, it gets dark SUPER late!!! It can be 7pm but it looks like.....4pm in Malaysia!! I think I'll take time getting used to that!

So we flew from California to Atlanta with this disgusting couple making out opposite the aisle the WHOLE JOURNEY!!!! and in atlanta we flew to charlotte. Atlanta airport is HUGE and LONG. In fact all the airports seemed humongous to me.

So now we are in NC! The day we arrived we didn't do much, just napped and met the family and had home cooked food for dinner. Then yesterday we went to the lake! it's called Lake Norman and is HUGE. really HUGE HUGE. We took out the motor boat with our host, Eric, and his son, Alex and Jake, a friend of Alex. I watched them do a bit of wake skating and it looked SCARY.

Today I went out on the lake again!! It was not so cold today and I actually took a dip in it! I went with Max this time, who is the person I've been in touch most when I was in Msia/Sg. Met some of Max's friends, who are OMG SO AMERICAN. I met Swede and his gf Berna, Kurt, Zac and Chris...something. I forgot his last name. It's so different, they are totally ready to take off their shirts and bask in the hot sun (guys i mean) and beer is consumed easily and what else? OH yeah!!! They are brown haired blue eyed or blond hair blue eyed. I'm not sure if I've seen anyone with very dark eyes yet. Wow. And they are all so SKINNY AND FIT!!!!!!!! YIkes I have to get into shape if i wanna go wake boarding!! Wake boarding looks fun!!! ok myself!! how about 20 push ups every morning???

then this evening we hung out with Anya and her friends, Anya is the girl of the family. Her friends are crazy and UBER FUN. and people here are so open!! If any guy came and just dumped himself on top of me in an attempt to crush me i would probably beat them up!!!!! and oh yeah.

Conversations with the older teens sometimes include f***. its like

Someone: something something f*** something dot dot dot.
Kchan:blink

I should get used to it soon! ahahha. so we watched half of the Convenant then had pizza and drinks, played some wii games, and bounced on a giant trampoline and just hung out like teens do. Well my sis and I didn't do a LOT of talking, but I totally enjoyed the evening, and laughed like crazy!! For the record, Anya's friends are Megan, Emily, Lauren, Danny, Wes and Taylor. All band people.

OK. WE ARE BACK. AND hugs and hi fives all around plus group hug before you leave please. Giant trampolines ar super fun and I WANT CHINESE SONGS. SEND ME CHINESE SONGS PLEAAASE!!!!

thikning of you guys always and hoping that you're having a great time...

'I dreamt that I was composing a symphony....I had gone to my table to begin writing it down when I suddenly reflected: "If I write this part I shall let myself be carried on to write the rest. The natural tendency of my mind to expand the material is sure to make it very long...When the symphony is finished I shall be weak enough to allow my copyist to copy it out, and thus immediately incur a debt of 1,000 or 1,200 francs. Once the parts are copied I shall be harassed by the temptation to have the work performed; I shall give a concert in which, as is sure to be the case in these days, the receipts will barely cover half the expenses; I shall lose what I have not got; I shall want the necessaries of life for my poor invalid, and shall have no money for either myself or for my son's keep on board ship!"...I threw down my pen saying, "Bah! I shall have forgotten the symphony tomorrow." But the following night the obstinate symphony again presented itself...'
- Berlioz writing about a nightmare he had during the 1850s
