Poetry and Sichuan Spicy and Sour Soup ?

Ode to the Plum Blossom (Mao Zedong, 1961.12)
Wind and rain escorted Spring's departure,Flying snow welcome Spring's return. On the ice-clad rock rising high and sheerA flower blossom sweet and fair.
Sweet and fair, she craves not Spring for herself alone,To be the harbinger of Spring she is content. When the mountain flowers are in full bloomShe will smile mingling in their midst.

does my title sound peculiar? haha. bet it does. Well, I've been reading some of Mao Zedong's poems, english translation courtesy of Wikipedia, and well. I enjoy the occasional poetry, so I thought I'd post one for the poetry lovers who read my blog ^^. Now if only I could read chinese....i bet these poems would sound so much better in their original form. Plus the meaning would be deeper too. but enough about poetry.

So....Sichuan Spicy and Sour soup? well, I've had this craving for the stuff since....well my sore throat started raging. Today, I decided, I'm sick of this lost voice, and I shall dose it with what I crave to GET IT BACK. (weird reasonings of yours truly) Oh and I had to get my shoes too. yeaps. Reebok again! I'm a total reebok-fan. Not really into Nike, Adidas or the like. I support Rockport too! haha. some advertising for you... Nice pair of running shoes, I notice I tend to buy shoes that are towards the predominantly blue side. xD. oh yeah. maybe one day I'll pick up the courage to buy a pair of LIME GREEN shoes to match my purse.... wakaka. okay, i'm still a little incoherent. drugs induced people, sorry!

Orchard Rd was crowded today! I almost abandoned mission on the sopt when I saw the crowd. Mainly cause I don't like crowds. Find them scary. Anyway there was this parade going on, I did wish I had my camera so i could capture some pictures. Esp of the people doing make up, they make such interesting scenes. xD. Heck, I even ducked into Paragon (a very expensive place) for shelter, and when I checked the directory I remember thinking: Where the Heck are all the sports shops??! So, from now on I shall just remain a Takashimaya loyalist. wahaha. the japanese named shopping place where you can get almost everything you need. it's all there, don't bother travelling too much. hehe. oh no, advertising again.

Well. I think that's all for today, besides the fact that I've been sleeping like a hog all morning and all day yesterday....DRUGS. sigh. plus the voice and all. Meaning I've hardly touched my work. Realm of unproductiveness...you better not last long!!

lilmissCK: joy. got the voice back! happiness of external factor too ^^

'I dreamt that I was composing a symphony....I had gone to my table to begin writing it down when I suddenly reflected: "If I write this part I shall let myself be carried on to write the rest. The natural tendency of my mind to expand the material is sure to make it very long...When the symphony is finished I shall be weak enough to allow my copyist to copy it out, and thus immediately incur a debt of 1,000 or 1,200 francs. Once the parts are copied I shall be harassed by the temptation to have the work performed; I shall give a concert in which, as is sure to be the case in these days, the receipts will barely cover half the expenses; I shall lose what I have not got; I shall want the necessaries of life for my poor invalid, and shall have no money for either myself or for my son's keep on board ship!"...I threw down my pen saying, "Bah! I shall have forgotten the symphony tomorrow." But the following night the obstinate symphony again presented itself...'
- Berlioz writing about a nightmare he had during the 1850s
