& your soul is all i ever wanted

Do you know what you want?

window period to drop subjects ended yesterday. a few more people i know dropped subs. Zin Htet (class mate) dropped Bio...Billy and Chris (scholars) dropped Further Maths. I heard Ms Chai was slightly... Oo.... I bet she's wondering why so "many" of her scholars want to take 3 subs. I put many in incerted commas cause it's just 5 of us... myself, Billy, Chris, Gui Liang and Kuan Chin. (omg I'm the only girl....)

Which leads me to wonder, what is the big deal about taking 4 subjects? Heck, if I could, I want 4 subs too...and 2 S papers while I'm at it...but that's being greedy? inevitably, I'm not taking 4 subs (even though I qualified to appeal to keep last year) because I don't want anything else other than A's on my results slip next year. And I think that's how the other's probably feel as well to. If one subject is going to pull down the rest, well, I don't see the point. After all, we are under a meritocracy system, the works go to those who do better. and, well, computing the data of lets say, 3A's and 1 B is not as good as 3A's. With all the competition, even though 3A's and 1 B is actually not bad a set of results, your average score will be pulled down and thus supposedly (correct me if I'm wrong) you'll have different chances compared to someone who took one less subject than you did, and got a similar set of results. I THINK it works that way, but if you have the opitmistic better view, that 3A's and 1B is better than 3A's for computing of averages, do tell me. Consider worse cases, such as 3A's and 1C/D/E and well......................BLEAK outlook.............

that's why I dropped physics last year. (Although I didnt exactly get 3A's and something else) But I rationalised that if it is going to pull me down, there would be no point in taking it. Plus, I am not exactly a fan of the calculations involved. haha, yeah, I'm a reading-facts likd of person, i vomit out facts better than I calculate them!

anyway it's study time, I shall go master my probablity, test tomorrow!!

'I dreamt that I was composing a symphony....I had gone to my table to begin writing it down when I suddenly reflected: "If I write this part I shall let myself be carried on to write the rest. The natural tendency of my mind to expand the material is sure to make it very long...When the symphony is finished I shall be weak enough to allow my copyist to copy it out, and thus immediately incur a debt of 1,000 or 1,200 francs. Once the parts are copied I shall be harassed by the temptation to have the work performed; I shall give a concert in which, as is sure to be the case in these days, the receipts will barely cover half the expenses; I shall lose what I have not got; I shall want the necessaries of life for my poor invalid, and shall have no money for either myself or for my son's keep on board ship!"...I threw down my pen saying, "Bah! I shall have forgotten the symphony tomorrow." But the following night the obstinate symphony again presented itself...'
