& your soul is all i ever wanted

10 days worth of events

All in one post. This is gonna be humongously long.

7th Aug (Sunday) cont'

After the docs, Ying Lee and I headed for Marina Bay, and caught the bus to the place where they were having the celebration stuff. So we got off the bus and wow...heard those big Chinese drums! Uh oh! Started walking as fast as possible in their direction, and hey! We got to the place just in time to see the wushu people in their red shirts run into the "stage"! So we rushed to find seats, hopped up the complex of planks they'd set up for seating, sat down and...wow.....the wushu people look really tiny! Began scanning for familiar faces...but to no avail. And about 30 seconds after we'd sat down.......the wushu people ran off the field. Ying Lee and I were stunned. Then we started laughing. Think about it! We'd travelled for about half an hour and caught 30 seconds of action. HAHAHAHA. Of course, as Ying Lee rightly pointed out, we'd basically seen the whole show, since we saw them run in, ans saw them run out. HAHAHAHA. Of course we conveyed the message well to Tan Jo. teehee.

After the wushu Ying Lee and I waited for Tan Jo and they were having some military exhibition on what the mode of action would be in such and such event took place (terrorist attak for eg). Okay. I didn't like it. the planes and the shooting and, heaven forbid! the machine guns....and I thought...."This is what they're experiencing every hour every minute everyday in war torn countries...." Well. I couldn't think of anything else. I'm sure Singapore has her reasons for such elaborate and expensive shows. Anyway on a better note I had dinner in Marina with Ying Lee and Tan Jo that day, and it was real fun. My seniors are such nice people.

8 Aug (Mon)

I skipped school (hahahah). But hey, my throat was still quite bad and all...i had my MC! In the late morning I was much better probably cause I got enough sleep so I went out to meet Ying Lee and her classamate Wanteng and we watched CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. ITS BRILLIANT. WATCH IT!!!! I went digicam surveying after that, and got back by evening!

9 Aug (Singapore's National Day)

Around lunch time I met my aunt and uncle and cousin Ying Ying. My Keat Shuk took me to Holland Village to get my NEW DIGICAM!! ITS GORGEOUS!!! *swoons* My darling new Samsung Digimax i5 cost S$ 546 and is much better than the Olympus of similar function I planned to buy. Its just beautiful. Anyway after I'd got my new baby, we went to my aunt's brother's house where we watched FIREWORKS from National Day celebrations in Marina Center, and before that we had this SUMPTIOUS Japanese hot pot dinner cooked by Wakako, Ying Ying's aunt. OMG. I bet I gained 5 kg in one sitting. IT WAS SO GOOD. Also watched this old musical 'Singing in the Rain" which I promptly fell in love with. if you're a musical fan, watch it. If you're into dancing this is good too.

10 Aug (Weds)

Supposed to be my day off, but it was the first day of my workshop in IMCB (Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology)

This merits a new post.

Toodles!

'I dreamt that I was composing a symphony....I had gone to my table to begin writing it down when I suddenly reflected: "If I write this part I shall let myself be carried on to write the rest. The natural tendency of my mind to expand the material is sure to make it very long...When the symphony is finished I shall be weak enough to allow my copyist to copy it out, and thus immediately incur a debt of 1,000 or 1,200 francs. Once the parts are copied I shall be harassed by the temptation to have the work performed; I shall give a concert in which, as is sure to be the case in these days, the receipts will barely cover half the expenses; I shall lose what I have not got; I shall want the necessaries of life for my poor invalid, and shall have no money for either myself or for my son's keep on board ship!"...I threw down my pen saying, "Bah! I shall have forgotten the symphony tomorrow." But the following night the obstinate symphony again presented itself...'
