& your soul is all i ever wanted
Slightly better?

I am so skipping my class bonding right now. In Singaporean terms, I quite feel that I'm totally Stoning.....or in other words invisible to the eyes of most of the world. If you consider 14/05 a world.

Anyway I'm trying to make my life as positive as possible. So....2 days ago, me and a friend from JB named Elaine auditioned for choir. I think it was rather amusing (for me) so I'll try and relate a blow-by-blow account below.

So....Elaine and I went towards the Choir room (After a freezing one and a half hour in chem make-up lecture) and stood outside for about 15 minutes debating whether to go in or not. In the end (finally) we went in, wrote down our names and before we could even sit down, Elaine was called to audition. I sat there and entertained my nervous feelings and tried to appreciate the usually calm-sounding sound of the piano. Elaine's audition seemed to be over in no time at all...and it was my turn...

So I went up to the guy sitting at the piano, and one of the first things a girl (who was probably evaluating) said were,"You're Malaysian too right? Are you from the same school as Elaine? And the guy was, "No, she's from the same school as Miss-Loh's twin sister" (that is Ying Lee). Christine was trying not to laugh and said no. Then they asked my name, and when I said Christine, it was like, "Oh....as in Phantom of the Opera..." (I call this the Phantom of the Opera reaction) blah blah blah. The out of the blue the guy asked if I would sing the Malaysian National Anthem....

My reaction: Well, no, coz if I sing it I'd make everyone stand at attention....

and before I knew it everyone was standing at attention.

Christine sings....feeling VERY weird

then after that went through the same procedure as Elaine...

On the piano, a chord is played and you sing the 5 notes of that range....

eg: played: C major chord, Sung: do re mi fa so fa mi re do, but as in la la la la la la la la la

I hope you get the idea.

anyway it went up first, and when it hit the high notes, the guy (who's very nice) went, okay, take a deep breath....(etc) and basically I sung higher than I have EVER done in my life. I was so...shocked at a point I started laughing....(how embarassing)

The went down....the m'audition was over!!

Okay no more time to blog, I have lecture in 5 mins.

oh, suffered from severe insomnia yesterday...wonder why. Also created an ASEAN design...i think its not bad for a first attempt...

'I dreamt that I was composing a symphony....I had gone to my table to begin writing it down when I suddenly reflected: "If I write this part I shall let myself be carried on to write the rest. The natural tendency of my mind to expand the material is sure to make it very long...When the symphony is finished I shall be weak enough to allow my copyist to copy it out, and thus immediately incur a debt of 1,000 or 1,200 francs. Once the parts are copied I shall be harassed by the temptation to have the work performed; I shall give a concert in which, as is sure to be the case in these days, the receipts will barely cover half the expenses; I shall lose what I have not got; I shall want the necessaries of life for my poor invalid, and shall have no money for either myself or for my son's keep on board ship!"...I threw down my pen saying, "Bah! I shall have forgotten the symphony tomorrow." But the following night the obstinate symphony again presented itself...'
