& your soul is all i ever wanted
Finally a blogging opportunity passes by...

Finally, the chance to blog!! I'm actually typing this offline using my darling laptop which i just recently fixed....but wait, I'm getting too far ahead of myself. Better start things proper....with....CHINESE NEW YEAR celebrations of course!!

This Chinese New Year I travelled down with my Keat Shuk to Malaysia on Tuesday morning....and we were back remarkably early...3.00pm! Rather nice seeing my family again, and my extended family at reunion dinner. Most common question posed to me : How's Singapore?? My standard answer : Ok-lah... I think its a far less interesting answer than that of my friend's; ''I hate it''. Hehehe. It's no bed of roses here...and the food leaves much to be said for, but I shouldn't complain when given such a good opportunity right? Sadly, I left Malaysia on Saturday after a few days of totally gorging myself on good food (even roti canai) for Singapore on Saturday. I went back with another uncle, and was back in the afternoon. After wiping off the dust in my room and unpacking a bit, I dusted myself off and lugged my darling to Takashimaya! My darling being my laptop of course. Took a bus there....and dragged the heavy machine up a few floors and serached very hard for the Fujitsu place there. Ugh. Bad memory. Spent a lot of money (few hundred dollars) on replacing my hard drive too. But, it was worth it! My laptop is now totally usable!! Of course, my hard drive had crashed so I lost ALL my files (sob sob) and just everything in fact. I don't even have the basic Microsoft Office!! Don't know how I'm gonna survive... Anyway after leaving my laptop at Fujitsu I treated myself to a trip to Kinokunya, and bought some stationary and a few pleasures there. Looking at all the stuff there really put me in a good mood...though the high prices did set me off a little. I then waited for my friend Ying Lee (who'd arrived at 5 something) and we just walked around Takashimaya together. Oh I might mention here too, I got a S$25 worth note on that day certifying my specs are compatible with my eyes. Ugh. Feel so cheated. Anyway, Ying Lee and I had dinner with her cousin, Timothy who is currently serving National Service; in MARCHE! Oh it was SUPERB!! I think just thinking of it would make me get fatter. Hehehe. And to cap off our very interesting day, I got the both of us lost on the bus. My silly mistake thinking bus systems here are like those in Malaysia. Kind of embarassing for me so I won't elaborate. We both ended up in my room (Pei Ying wasn't back yet) watching our Chemistry E-Lecture, which is on a CD-rom...but we got bored after 20 minutes (it was VERY late). In the end we gave up and fell asleep.

As for Sunday, we got up early, had breakfast and commenced to a very important thing : shopping! Yeah, Ying Lee checked here eyes for S$15 (which is why I feel cheated) in Bishan and we bought food in the Fair Price there to bring to school. Fair Price is something like Giant I think. I also got a nice Adidas watch for $ 36, which I think was rather a bargain. My old watch strap broke when I was strapping it on a month ago...i was so disgusted. After shopping was over and done with we headed back for....homework and to study for our Physics common test. Oh we finished our chemistry e-lecture earlier in the morning....and we both concluded its really boring. Comprehendable though. On Monday (sigh) it was back to school again. Felt a great pang of irony when I forced myself to get out of bed that morning. Valentine's Day with P.E. (we ran outside the school - horrible) and 2 common tests....yeah right not good. The only highlight of my day was an unexpected call from my mum and a nice conversation with Ying Lee, Kuan Chin and Xiao Ming. Xiao Ming is a Chinese guy taking A-levels here.

To wrap this post up, I'm extending an appeal to all readers...I need your feedback!! Please!! Do you think I should drop Physics and take up Economics? I'm not a math person for all those who don't know...and I don't adore physics (Sadly). So please please please give me your comments....I'll be so grateful!

Love, Christine (lacks sleep)

'I dreamt that I was composing a symphony....I had gone to my table to begin writing it down when I suddenly reflected: "If I write this part I shall let myself be carried on to write the rest. The natural tendency of my mind to expand the material is sure to make it very long...When the symphony is finished I shall be weak enough to allow my copyist to copy it out, and thus immediately incur a debt of 1,000 or 1,200 francs. Once the parts are copied I shall be harassed by the temptation to have the work performed; I shall give a concert in which, as is sure to be the case in these days, the receipts will barely cover half the expenses; I shall lose what I have not got; I shall want the necessaries of life for my poor invalid, and shall have no money for either myself or for my son's keep on board ship!"...I threw down my pen saying, "Bah! I shall have forgotten the symphony tomorrow." But the following night the obstinate symphony again presented itself...'
